FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies will be kicking off their 50th Anniversary season on Saturday night.
The Huskies will be heading to Sexsmith to take on the Vipers. The teams previously met back on February 23rd, when the team from Fort St. John swept the Flyers in three games to advance to Round 2 of the 2016 NWJHL playoffs.
Huskies General Manager Jeremy Clothier says that him and the rest of the coaching staff will be making tweaks to their final roster over the weekend ahead of a pair of away games next weekend. Clothier says that those tweaks will be difficult, as the team is shaping up to be incredibly competitive, with great speed and size. The team looked excellent last weekend when they beat the Vermilion Tigers in two preseason games last weekend 9-1 and 8-1 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The team will be taking to the ice on Saturday night at the Sexsmith Arena on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Alberta time, 7:00 p.m. in Fort St. John.
