DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier announced that four organizations in the South Peace have received $53,000 in funding from the B.C. government’s community gaming grant program.

The Chetwynd Electric Eels Swim Association, Dawson Creek Curling Club, South Peace Art Society, and the Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club are together receiving the grant money.

“These local organizations are invaluable members of our community,” said Bernier. “I’m proud to see our government supporting these clubs where local residents can come together to stay active and find a sense of belonging with their peers.”

The grants are awarded under the Sport and Arts and Culture category of the community gaming grant program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
