This holiday season, all of our Supporters are entered to win an $800 Shopping Spree Giveaway!

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John was recognized at the UBCM conference with 2 awards to bring home.

The first award was for the Passive House. The City received the Community Recognition Award which awarded by a wood organization called Wood Works. The award is given out to communities that have been excellent in advocating for wood.

The second award that was given was a UBCM award. The City received honourable mention for the Passive House and Micro Hydro projects.

Julie Rogers, Communications Coordinator for the City says this is a big deal for the City of Fort St. John.

“It is a big deal. We’re a small northern city and the two projects that were recognized are huge examples of leadership in energy conservation.”

Fort St. John Mayor Lori Ackerman was on hand to accept the awards.
