FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – Browns Social House has donated $6,500 to Shriners, a foundation that helps with transportation, accommodation, and all associated medical treatment—including follow-up.

Shane Brooks, who helped organize the fundraiser says for the first year of the event, he is extremely happy with what they have accomplished.

“For our first year I am more then happy with what we have done.

We definitely appreciate the donations and help from local businesses, as well as all tables that where filled by everyone who came down.

It was nice seeing some of the local families of the patients that have recently been to the Shriners Hospital in Portland, and hear the stories and appreciation for what the Shriners have done for them.”

Depending on a diagnosis, care can be given at any one of the Shriners hospitals, but most cases from BC and the Yukon are treated in Portland, Spokane and Montreal.
