FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A lack of confirmed registrants for the Big Bam Vertical Slam planned for September 17th means that organizers have set a deadline of August 24th for registration.

Speaking with Moose FM several weeks ago, event organiser Laurie Cardinal said registration numbers to that point had been disappointing, compared to the number of people Cardinal said had shown interest in participating. At that time, there were approximately 130 persons registered for the event, while organizers had anticipated that 400 would be taking to the Big Bam Ski Hill on September 17th. Cardinal says that though she was confident that there would be a surge of last-minute registrations, the limited budget of the non-profit organistion putting on the event means that they don’t have sufficient capital to cover the costs before a certain time.

A post on the event’s Facebook page confirmed yesterday that organizers will be making the decision to go ahead with, or postpone the planned hike and obstacle course and add it to the Big Bam Vertical Slam scheduled for June 10th, 2017. Current registrants will be able to get a full refund, or include their registration fees in next year’s event.
