Worlds Invitational Gold Panning Championships coming to Taylor this weekend

TAYLOR, B.C. – The Worlds Invitational Gold Panning Championships are coming to Taylor this weekend from July 29th to July 31st.

Mayor Rob Fraser says there will be a parade at 6:30 on Friday July 29th to kick off the festivities. There will then be the actual events on Saturday and Sunday.

Things kick off with registration at 11:00 a.m. followed my Media, Sponsor, and Celebrity panning at noon.

The panning for real gold happens from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. The juvenile competition then starts at 1:00 p.m.

There are different classes that will be participating in the championships. There is “Class A” which are certified professionals. “Class B” are non-professional. “Class C” are Adult/Juvenile.

“Class B” will start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. “Class C” will then follow at 4:30 p.m.

Sunday is when the big finale goes down. The professional “Class A” will begin at 12:00 p.m.
