Northeast BC Wildlife Fund offering boat safety course

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Boaters and would-be boaters in the Peace Region can improve their on-the-water savvy with a boating safety course later this month.

The course is being put on by the Notheastern BC Wildlife Fund on July 25th in Fort St. John at the Qwest Helicopters hangar at the North Peace Airport. There will also be a second course in Fort Nelson on July 27th, also at the Qwest hangar at the Fort Nelson Airport. The first hour of the course will be taught in a classroom, with the remainder of the course happening on the water. The practical classes will provide registrants with scenario-based rescue training including; swamping, parbuckling, man overboard drills, capsizing and more.
