FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Members of the Fort St. John Disc Sports Club, and Disc Golf Club were in Toboggan Hill Park on Friday afternoon, installing a temporary 9-hole disc golf course after receiving approval from Fort St. John city staff.
The two groups had previously met with the city’s Director of Recreation and Leisure Services Ross DeBoer last Friday, July 8th to finalize the layout of the course in the park, which was subject to final approval from BC One Call due to the group needing to use two foot Eco Spikes to anchor the temporary tonal targets for each of the course’s “holes.” After getting that final approval on Friday, the two groups spent most of Friday afternoon setting up the course before beginning the course’s first round of disc golf.
The course is free and open to the public to play at any time, except when members of the two clubs have booked the course for an event. For more information, check out the two club’s Facebook pages: FSJ Disc Golf Club and FSJ Disc Sports Club.
