Police investigating a shooting in Mackenzie

MACKENZIE, B.C. – The Mackenzie RCMP were called out early yesterday morning after getting a report of shots being fired in the 200 block of Crysdale Dr.

On July 7, at 4:35 a.m., officers arrived on the scene to learn that two individuals were outside of a residence on Crysdale Drive, when a suspect vehicle pulled up. One of the vehicle’s occupants fired several shots that struck one of the individuals, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mackenzie RCMP called in back up from their counterparts in Prince George. While on route to Mackenzie, the Prince George Police Dog Services Unit spotted the suspect vehicle which was stopped. Three individuals; 2 men and 1 woman were taken into custody without incident.

Police believe this to be a targeted incident as all suspects involved are known to police.
