DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – If you couldn’t make it to The Tragically Hip’s concert, there is another option for you.
In partnership with the CBC and The Tragically Hip, Spectra by Comcast Spectacor have announced that they will have a free family friendly screening party of the August 20th Kingston concert.
Doors will open at 5:00 pm on August 20th with the actual screening starting at 5:30.
While the event is free and open to the public, a ticket is still required. Tickets will be available starting Wednesday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m.
Tickets are available to be picked up from the box office, left at will call for pickup, or you can select the print at home option and the tickets will be emailed to you.
Tickets for the floor are available as general admission. Organizers are asking that you bring your own chair. There will be reserved seating in the stands for those who request it.
The Encana Events Centre hosted The Tragically Hip in Dawson Creek on July 12, 2011 with guests The Trews.
The Party on August 20th will feature photos and other memorabilia from the 2011 show for public viewing.
The event will also feature other activities like selfie stations, a silent auction including merchandise from the Man Machine Poem tour and other items. All proceeds from the event will support the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer at the Sunnybrook Foundation.
Gord Downie was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer earlier this year, making this tour remarkably special.
