CALGARY, A.B. – One of the senior members of the Inconnu Swim Team has advanced to the 50 metre backstroke final event this evening at the Canadian Age Group Nationals in Calgary after a blistering performance this morning.
Skyeler Kerr swam the 2nd-best time in the preliminary event this morning, swimming the 50 metres in 27.50 seconds. He was only 0.13 seconds behind heat winner Chris Ruus of the West Vancouver Otters. This the second event this morning for Kerr, who also swam in the 100m freestyle heat. Sadly, Kerr was nudged out of qualifying by 0.23 seconds, coming in 10th place in the event.
Alex Hedges and Brittany Welsh were also competing in both of their second events of the swim meet this morning. Hedges finished 27th in the 100m freestyle, while Welsh finished the 50m backstroke in 28th.
