FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A festival celebrating all aspects of the culture of India, including dance, music, singing, and food, will be stopping into the Energetic City on Tuesday.

The celebration, which is planned to take place in the park across from the North Peace Cultural Centre at the corner of 100th Avenue and 100th Street, will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will feature a number of local performers. Festival organiser Madhuha Dasa says that the festival will showcase various cultures and religions from the subcontinent, including Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Sikh among others. Among the activities tomorrow are demonstrations of traditional Indian mantras, or prayers, as well as traditional dancing from local performers. The event will also feature cauliflower pakoras, and a demonstration of paka yoga.

The festival is open to the public and is free to attend. Festivities are set to take place between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
