DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Two youth have been arrested in Dawson Creek after allegedly going on a crime spree.
The incident began on Tuesday morning just before 8:00 AM, when police received a report of a erratic driver of a trailer tractor unit inside Dawson Creek city limits.
Police located the semi, but the vehicle did not stop for police. Police decided not to pursue the truck due to safety reasons. A few moments later, the semi-truck was again spotted at a red light by an unmarked police car. The officer pulled in front of the trailer and took a 13 year-old youth and the 16 year-old female passenger into custody.
The investigation found that the two had apparently gone on a small crime spree. The pair allegedly stole a pickup truck in Dawson Creek, and travelled to Chetwynd where they crashed the truck. The two young people weren’t done yet, allegedly stealing a side-by-side before driving to another location in Chetwynd where they stole the semi-truck.
The two are still in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing. Charges include theft, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, and flight from police.
