TAYLOR, B.C. – The United Way Charity Golf Tournament was a phenomenal success yesterday afternoon at the Lone Wolf Golf Club in Taylor.

Niki Hedges with the United Way of Northern BC says that the tournament raised a net amount of just over $45,000 that will go towards helping a variety of people in need in the Fort St. John area. Hedges says that the full house of 144 participants in this year’s tournament were all incredibly happy, despite the torrential downpours that occurred on several occasions during the round of golf. Though no one managed to sink a hole-in-one, several balls made it very close to the cup.

The United Way extends thanks to all of their sponsors for helping to make the event successful, as well as to the participants. The UWNBC’s next event will be the Fire Truck Pull, which is slated for September.
