FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Sweetwater 905 Fest is ready to roll this year.
Organizer Karl Mattson says this year, the line-up is really exciting.
“The line up is great this year. Its not an easy task choosing from all the submissions.
I had help from Mike Odowichuk from FSJ this year. We would go through the submissions and then get together with our top picks and talk it over. We have acts coming from as far as Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Wells”
Sweetwater 905 is also evolving this year with splitting up the year into 3 different events. Mattson says this will allow them to properly focus on each different theme.
“2016 will be another spectacular year of music, literary, visual and performance art. There will be three one day festivals, showcasing each medium.”
On June 11th and 12th Sweetwater 905 Music Fest will be promoting local, regional and Canadian music. Focusing on the singer song writer; musicians will demonstrate their talents.
August 20th will see Sweetwater 905 Farm Day. It will promote the working farm through horse workshops, farm demonstrations, local artisans and farm tours. A dinner and family dance will finish the night.
September 3rd will see Sweewater 905 Art Day and will showcase an eclectic day of art installations, studio tours and an evening of spoken word, music, and collaborative mayhem.
Although the weather forecast as of now isn’t great, Mattson hopes people will still come out and enjoy the festivities. They have built lots of roofs to be under, even if it rains, you can still catch the acts perform.
