FORT ST. JOHN, BC – 3 schools are growing local fresh produce this summer for a good cause.

Ecole Central, Duncan Cran, Robert Ogilvie and the Community Garden are all participating in food security programming.

The food that is grown in these beds will go to local food banks and will be distributed through the Salvation Army and Women’s Resources or preserved through NEAT’s canning initiatives.

The trees and garden beds are available to be sponsored. Sponsors will be recognized through signs on the beds or trees.

NEAT is also looking for donations of a water tank and water dumps throughout the summer for the gardens.
