City asking people to stay away from Fish Creek trails

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The city of Fort St. John is asking people to stay away from the Fish Creek trails after it was discovered people were using them over the weekend when they were closed.

The city said the caution tape as well as barricades have been removed, without the city consenting.

In addition to it not being safe, it makes the contractors job a lot harder to finish the work that needs to be completed so the trails can re-open.

SAFETY WARNING: Fish Creek Trails remain CLOSED. There are workers in the park downing trees that are threatening to fall and this creates a very serious hazard to anyone who moves the barricades and signs and enters the park. If we allow the workers to do their work they may be able to get it done in the next week. Thank you for your patience.
