Residents can help themselves to sand and sandbags at the Moberly Lake Fire Hall, the Compass Service Station in the Wildmare Area. Sand and Sandbags will also be available starting Wednesday evening at the Tomslake Fire Hall and the Tupper Hall.

Residents should bring their own tools to fill the sandbags.

The District of Chetwynd is also offering sandbags to residents. Those bags can be picked up the Chetwynd Public Works Yard. The District of Chetwynd has issued a local state of emergency after receiving over 70 mm of rain since noon on Wednesday.

The forecast still calls for another 20 to 40 mm of rain before things dry up late Thursday.
