UPDATE: Phones have now been fixed at Duncan Cran

Also the flooding on 94th avenue has been fixed. Remember if you see any flooding report it to the City by calling 311.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – With the major part of a storm expected to hit the Peace Region today, some places are already seeing issues.

Phones at Duncan Cran school have apparently stopped working because of the rain.

The City of Fort St. John also sent out a message on Twitter saying there is some small localized flooding on 94th Ave between 100th street and 102nd street.

“Yes we do have a wee bit of excess water on 94th Ave between 100th St and 102 st. We are keeping an eye on it and will pump it out if necessary but the street is passable for now. Fortunately, the final phase of our storm sewer project is beginning in a few days (we are digging up 93 Ave and replacing the pipes) and that will alleviate this problem from happening again in this area. Remember last year we dug up the road in front of the mall to replace those storm sewer pipes? Yup – no flooding will happen there this year. Yay.”

The storm is expected to dump 60-80 mm of rain before it ends on Thursday morning.
