FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – It likely comes a surprise to very few people, but for the record, in the Fort St. John real estate region, which includes Taylor and Hudson’s Hope, it is now very much a buyer’s market, with listings, at midday yesterday, totaling 715.

Roland Cataford at Century 21 is the Peace River/Fort Nelson-Liard Region Director on the BC Northern Real Estate Board.

In addition, as you might also suspect, so are selling prices, and Roland says the average price for a two bedroom residential detached house is now in the $240 to $270,000 dollar range, as opposed to about $300,000 two to three years ago.

That makes selling very difficult for those who purchased their home in the last two and half years.

Meantime, for those looking to purchase a home in this area, Roland suggests that you be in the right place at the right time.
