FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Despite a heavy rainfall warning that is in effect for the Peace Region, the City of Fort St. John is not concerned or worried about the amount of rain expected.
Julie Rogers, communications coordinator with the city, says unless this is the worst rainfall on record, the city is prepared for whatever comes.
“We have no concerns. We’ve had crews out the last few weeks flushing our sewer lines. They have also been out the last few days making sure all of our storm drains are clear. We’ve got vacuum trucks and pump trucks ready to go just in case.”
Environment Canada is forecasting 60-80 mm of rain between now and Thursday afternoon before it tapers off.
