Wildfire Service releases map of Siphon Creek fire

Here is a map of the Siphon Creek fire as of May 16, 2016

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The B.C. Wildfire Service has released a new map that shows the approximate location of Siphon Creek fire.

The map shows the fire is still 66,600 hectares with 50,000 hectares burning in B.C. and 16,600 in Alberta.  The fire is now 30 per cent contained, but crews experienced stronger winds from the southwest on Monday.

An evacuation alert issued on Sunday remains in place and covers the area below.

There is also an evacuation preparedness alert in place for part of Clear Hills County in Alberta.  This map shows the area under that alert.
