Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning for the B.C. South Peace River district.
Rain is expected to hit the area hard until Friday morning.
“An upper low over the Alaskan Panhandle will track southeastward
tonight and lie over the southern interior on Thursday. Moisture
wrapping around the low will give rain to the B.C. South Peace River district Thursday and Thursday night, with total rainfall amounts possibly reaching 50 mm by Friday morning.
Additionally, freezing levels are expected to lower to 1000 metres Thursday night. As a result, rain may become mixed with or change to wet snow near Tumbler Ridge overnight into Friday morning.”
