FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — On Saturday, the next B.C. Liberal Candidate for the Peace River North riding will be selected.
The two candidates in the running are Mayor of Fort St. John, Lori Ackerman, and Fort St. John City Councillor Dan Davies. Both ran for the title in 2009, which went to retiring Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm.
Near the end of 2015, Pimm announced his intentions to retire after the 2017 provincial election, leaving a spot for a liberal candidate in the race vacant.
Councillor Davies and Mayor Ackerman announced their official candidacy earlier this year, and have campaigned at numerous events since then, meeting with constituents and discussing local issues.
Registered members of the will be able to vote for one of the candidates at two locations in Fort Nelson and Fort St. John on May 7.
