Evacuation Order lifed and revised Evacuation ALERT issued for Beatton

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A new revised evacuation alert has been issued for the Beatton Road Airport Fire. The previous evacuation ORDER has ended. However, a ALERT still remains in place.

That means residents who were evacuated from their homes Sunday, can now return.  Some residents that were evacuated will remain under an evacuation alert.  Residents of the Blueberry River First Nation can alos return home.

“A REVISED Evacuation ALERT has been issued by Peace River Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Peace River Regional District has issued a REVISED Evacuation ALERT for the Beatton Airport Road area in Electoral Area B in response to Beatton Airport Road Area Fire #G80046: Geographic Area, including all properties on the following roads:

• Intersection of Blueberry River Railroad Crossing, including the CN rail bridge.

• Generally due South to the Tervita Plant at 18245 Beatton Airport Road and then South – South West to the CNRL Plant at 74 Road.

• Due West to unnamed Creek (Local name Jack Rempel Creek); northerly along eastern shore of unnamed Creek (Local name Jack Rempel Creek) to Blueberry River.

 • Easterly along the south shore of the Blueberry River to intersection of Blueberry River Railroad Crossing.”
