Power goes out in downtown Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC Hydro crews are now trying to completely return power to customers in downtown Fort St. John.

According to BC Hydro, a transformer burned out and caused power outages for 13 customers along 101 Avenue and 100 Street. The malfunction was caused by birds, causing the outage to happen around 2:40 p.m.

Crews are on site are working to restore power for the customers hopefully by 5 p.m.
