May 4 is McHappy Day at McDonald’s

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Wednesday, May 4 is McHappy Day — a day in which the profits from certain items on McDonald’s menu helps fund the Ronald McDonald House, and a local charity.

In Fort St. John, profits from Big Macs, Happy Meals and McCafe hot drinks will benefit the Child Development Centre.

In 2015, the local restaurant made $14,046 on McHappy Day, and the Child Development Centre in both Fort St. John and Dawson Creek received $3,500 each. In 2014, the amount raised was roughly $12,000.

According to numbers from last year, 529 Big Macs were sold on McHappy Day at the Fort St. John restaurant in 2015.
