Local businesses collection donations for Fort McMurray residents

Donations have already started to arrive at Revolution Honda in Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Several Fort St. John businesses are stepping up to help support victims of the forest fire in Fort McMurray.

Wednesday morning, Revolution Honda announced they will be taking monetary donations, or donations of clothing, toys, or non-perishable food items to the Revolution Honda Dealership in person.

Sean Mulholland with the company’s sales team says a truck will be filled up with goods, and send it to Whitecourt, Alberta. He says the truck will go to that dealership as many times as it needs to, to distribute the donations.

Revolution Honda has also setup a GoFundMe, if you’d like to donate online.  You can donate to the GoFundMe here.

St. John Advertising and Energetic Services have joined forces to also collect donations for those in need.  St John Advertising will be donating all of its discontinued clothing samples and is asking the community to donate more items.  You can start dropping donations off on Thursday at 7:30 a.m.

Energetic Services and one of their drivers have donated their truck and trailer to drive the donations to those affected.  They hope to fill an entire truck by 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Donations can be dropped off at St. John Advertising at 8211 100 Ave.

You can also make donations through the Red Cross at www.redcross.ca
