FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – While the Weather Network isn’t expecting a scorching summer in the West, Fort St. John should expect heat and dry conditions for most of the summer.

Nadine Powell with the Weather Network says we can expect above average temperatures and borderline precipitation amounts.

“It seems as though in Northern B.C. and Northeast B.C., we may be on the near normal but borderline below seasonal in terms of precipitation and we are expecting temperatures to be above seasonal.”

In terms of precipitation for the summer months usually Fort St. John sees about 100 mm of rain, but that is expected to be borderline or below average.

“Indications for the season itself, means there may be 1 or 2 occasions where we do get rainfall events, but in terms of expecting an above average for rainfall, we don’t see that happening for the upcoming season.”

Fort St. John can expect a few degrees above the normal average of 21 degrees.
