TAYLOR, B.C. – A farm near the end of Johnson Road in Taylor was the place to be for lovers of everything lawnmower-related on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The 3rd Annual Mower Mayhem took place on the south bank of the Peace River, and saw over 300 spectators watching 30 riders and their grass-cutting machines racing at not-so breakneck speed around the group’s oval track, as well as a 2-kilometre cross-country track.

Byron Westgate was the weekend’s most-decorated racer, taking first spot in the Tractor Pull and Drag Race, as well as taking home the Mayhem Cup.

Brian Rodgers had the fastest-racing lawnmower of the weekend, as he took both the Oval Race and Cross-Country trophies.

Other winners on Sunday included: Sheldon Saywell for Stock Mower, Ron Gillmore for Pro Stock Mower, Troy Hillery for Modified Mower, Jayden Medima as the top Jr. Mower, and Sara Rondeau winning the Powder Puff Award.
