Over 200 homes affected by evacuation order

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — According to the PRRD, over 200 homes were affected by the evacuation order issued on Thursday and Friday.

The order was revised to include more addresses, bringing the total to 216.

The PRRD has not confirmed yet if any structures were lost, but deputy CAO Shannon Anderson said they will be receiving more information in the afternoon.

Evacuation is mandatory in the affected areas, and evacuees are asked to go to the Fort St. John Evacuation Centre at the North Peace Arena. To register, evacuees are asked to call at 250 794 3310.

Anyone who needs their livestock housed or moved is asked to direct their inquiries to the Centre’s phone number, listed above.
