FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The group behind several successful rallies in the Fort St. John area in recent weeks spoke at Monday afternoon’s council meeting about their upcoming trip to Ottawa.
FSJ For LNG’s Founder and Chairman Alan Yu gave a presentation to council about the history of the group, including the various rallies and fundraisers the group has conducted.
In the wake of recent successes including the Truck Rally on March 16th and last month’s People Power Rally that included Premier Christy Clark as a guest speaker, Yu gave an update to council on the group’s planned cross-country bus trip to Ottawa.
According to Yu, the group has raised nearly 50% of their $20,000 goal which is going towards the trip. The planned delegation, which includes three members from Fort Nelson, two from Fort St. John, and one from Prince Rupert plans to embark on their journey on May 22nd, featuring stops in Edmonton, White City, SK, and Winnipeg before arriving in Ottawa to meet with Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP Bob Zimmer by June 1st.
Yu is hopeful that the group can reach their fundraising goal for the journey. Anyone wishing to donate to FSJ For LNG’s Cross-Canada awareness trip can do so on the group’s GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/2hztstas.
