FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Nominations are now open for the BCSPCA North Peace Branch’s ‘Rescue Me’ event.

The Rescue Me event features nominated members of the community spending the day in one of the SPCA kennels, and calling friends, family and busineses to raise $500 to bail them out.

Even if the nominees don’t make the full amount, they will be let out at 4 p.m., of course.

This event is held in part with the SPCA Open House, and is part of the annual May Challenge to raise awareness of SPCA branches in the north.

To nominate, send your nominee’s contact information — including name and phone number or email — to, or call 250-793-0813. Our volunteers will contact the nominees and make arrangements should they accept the nomination.

The event will be held next Saturday, May 14. For more information on the May Challenge or to get involved, the phone number for the local branch is 250-785-7722.
