FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fire Information Officer Amanda Reynolds with the Prince George Fire Centre says the Beatton Airport Road fire is still estimated to be 5,500 hectares in size, but crews have expanded their attack on it.
“There’s fire personnel and a unit crew on sight and another unit crew is on route to the fire,” she said.
She said the prognosis on fire fighting heading into the next few days is positive, with more precipitation expected to enter the area and move up to the northeast.
The Attachie fire has a 10-man crew fighting it, having expanded its attack.
A fire near the Lyndon Subdivision of Charlie Lake is in mop-up, meaning crews have started on the outside edges of the fire to work towards the middle.
