FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Gymnastics Club has received a donation of over $1,500, raised through The Moose FM and Fort St. John Co-op’s Live It! Active Challenge.

Moose FM owner/manager Adam Reaburn presented recreation coordinator Chantelle Yates with the cheque of $1,577.87 on Wednesday.

Yates said the club has also received almost $2,000 in other donations, but still doesn’t know what is happening with the building. In the meantime, the club has been using a room in the Stonebridge Hotel to practice.

“We’re still waiting to hear from the city, and they’re waiting on the insurance to let them know what’s happening with our old building,” she said.

The club was first allowed to stay with the Stonebridge Hotel until June, but that has been extended until August, Yates confirmed.

“We’re hoping by the end of August to have some answers,” she added.

The North Peace Arena was scorched by a fire in July 2015, which left the Gymnastics building unusable.
