DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Peace River Regional District is telling additional residents of Taylor to leave the area immediately, as it has expanded its evacuation order of the area.
According to a news release from the PRRD, members of the RCMP and Taylor Fire Department will be helping to expedit this action.
The order was expanded due to ‘immediate danger to life safety due to interface fire and wildfire.’
The Evacuation Order is in effect for the following areas in the community of South Taylor in Electoral Area D of the Peace River Regional District:
Residents in these areas need to report to the Taylor Community Centre.
- Johnson Road
- Big Bam Road
- 249 Road off John Road
Residents in these areas need to report to the EnCana Events Centre Front Entrance.
- 249 Road 0ff 230 Road
- Pingle Creek Road
- 232 Road (Lythall Road)
- Travis Subdivision
- 230 Road west of the Alaska Highway and east of the Alaska Highway to the junction of the 247 Road
- 257 Road off of the 230 Road
- 251 Road between 230 Road and 228 Road
- Addresses along the 228 Road from 66275 228 Road to 5482 228 Road
- Addresses along the 247 Road from 2578 247 Road to the 230
Residents in this area should report to the Taylor Community Hall Reception Centre. If transportation assistance is needed, you can call 250 784 3200.
It’s asked that residents close all windows and doors; shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers, close gates but do not lock, take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
Do not use more vehicles then you have to, and do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service.
