Community awards take place tonight

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Ninth Annual Community Awards starts at the Lido Theatre tonight at 7 p.m., emceed by Ted Sloan.

The City of Fort St. John will be recognizing citizens with a variety of awards, including a cultural award, a recreation award, a literacy award, a humanitarian award, a youth award, and the Mayor’s Citizen of the Year award.

Special guests Pat Ferris and Gord Humphrey, with performances by Twin Peaks.

Tickets are $30 for adult/general admission, and $20 for youth/seniors. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the event will run until 9:30 p.m. tonight.
