Senior girls volleyball team struggle at Whitecourt tournament

The senior girls volleyball team from North Peace Secondary School had a difficult time out last weekend as they were in Whitecourt for a tournament. Missing their captain and starting setter Madison Leriger, they went 0-3 on the first day of the event.

The team rebounded with a victory over St. Joseph’s the following day but finished 4th overall in their pool.

Despite losing in the semi finals of the consolation round coach Elena Schmidt said they played more as a team and gave away less points as the tournament progressed.

She added despite the result she was happy with the turnaround in performance and attitude, and was hopeful that they will have a better showing at the home tournament October 16-17.
