Former NHLer and current Vancouver Canucks player development consultant Scott Walker has been announced as the head coach of Team Canada White for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Walker’s coaching history includes five seasons as bench boss of the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, and he served as an assistant coach on Canada’s gold medal winning world junior team from this past January.

Walker has also been associated with the bronze medal Canadian junior team in 2012, and Canada’s Under-18 squad from the Ivan Hlinka Tournament.

In his playing days he tallied 379 points in 829 NHL games.

Walker is replacing Jamie Kompon who had step down due to conflicting commitments.
