The Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program is looking to fund projects that help conserve and enhance fish, wildlife and their habitats in the Williston and Dinosaur Reservoir areas of the Peace Region.

FWCP is a partnership between BC Hydro, the Province of BC, First Nations, and Public Stakeholders, to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife impacted by existing BC Hydro dams.

The annual grant in-take process is now underway, and the FWCP is now accepting hope groups and individuals will apply for one of our grants.

“We have about $1.5 million annually to support projects that align with our regional conservation priorities,” says Dan Bouillon, Regional Manager in the FWCP’s Peace Region. “We’re hoping local groups and individuals will apply for a grant and work with us on one of these projects.”

Anyone interested in a grant must submit a mandatory Notice of Intent to the FWCP by October 2nd – grant applications are due November 20th.

Action Plans, the Notice of Intent form, and details about our grants are available at on their website.
