Armed robbery in Chetwynd over the weekend

On Friday night, just before 7 PM, a lone male entered a local business in the 5000 block of 50th Ave in Chetwynd, and demanded money from one of the cashiers with a weapon.

Once obtaining the contents of the register, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Not many details are known about the suspect – Cpl Dave Tyreman wrote in a release that he is described as a man in his “mid to late 20’s”, with “light to fair skinned, possibly aboriginal.”

Chetwynd RCMP are still investigating and trying to gather more information.

Anyone who may have information regarding this robbery is asked to contact them at 250-788-9221 or call Crimestoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
