VICTORIA — The Victoria Shamrocks have won the Mann Cup.
Corey Small had three goals and an assist as Victoria beat the Peterborough Lakers 12-6 on Friday night in Game 6 of the Mann Cup, Canada’s senior indoor lacrosse championship.
Dan Dawson led the Shamrocks with eight assists, while Jesse King and Karsen Leung had two goals each. Daryl Veltman, Rhys Duch, Bradley Kri, Scott Ranger and Tyler Hass also scored. Goaltender Aaron Bold made 31 saves for the win.
Curtis Dickson and Turner Evans had a goal and an assist each for Peterborough. Brad Self, Mark Farthing, Scott Evans and Chad Tutton also found the back of the net. Matt Vinc stopped 33 shots in net.
It was Victoria’s third-straight Mann Cup final appearance, but the first time the Shamrocks have won the title since 2005.
Victoria has a total of nine Mann Cups in its 105-year history.
