Three sports groups in the south Peace will be getting some needed cash through B.C.’s Community Gaming Grant program. Receiving money will be the Mile Zero Figure Skating Club, Chetwynd and District Minor Hockey Association, and Chetwynd Electric Eels Swim Association.

The Mile Zero Figure Skating Club will receive a grant for $23,100, while the Chetwynd and District Minor Hockey Association, and Chetwynd Electric Eels Swim Association will get $22,750, and $9,300 respectively.

In a release Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier said, “Sport is a big part of our community here in the South Peace. Funding will help all of these organizations continue to provide residents in our region with a fun means of physical activity.”

The grants are awarded under the Sport and Arts & Culture category of program. Non-profit organizations have the option to apply for grants through gaming revenues.
