The City of Fort St. John will be offering a number of programs at the Pomeroy Sport Centre from August 15 through September 4. Public skating sessions and drop in hockey will also begin August 15.
A program called Story/Skate/Colour for children between the ages of two to six with a parent starts on August 21. The objective of the session is to get children and their parent accustomed to the ice. The program is for skaters of all abilities.
A trial run will be held for sledge hockey starting August 20. The popular Paralympic event is for individuals with lower body mobility limitations.
The North Peace Eagles ladies hockey team and certified coaches will be holding a girls hockey clinic on August 18. The event will be for female hockey players from pre-novice through adult. All skill levels are welcome to take part.
According to a City release skate rentals are not available in August.
