BC Supreme Court turns down Site C Injunction

Two big decisions involving Site C were made today, affecting landowners in the area and construction.

The BC Supreme Court dismissed an application for an injunction that would have stopped some construction on the dam, and the Federal Government also turned away the Peace Valley Landowners Association’s application for judicial review.

“We’re pleased with the decisions and we believe Site C is the right project at the right time for BC,” BC Hydro’s Dave Conway said. “And we look forward to continuing with construction work.”

BC Hydro is expected to make a full comment later on, as the hearing on issuance of provincial permits is expected to take place in the fall.
