The Prophet River First Nation, and West Moberly First Nations have formally submitted a petition against the recently started construction of Site C. The petition was submitted to the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and named in the petition is BC Hydro, the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, the Regional Manager and Regional Water Manager of the Northeast Region, and the Chief Inspector of Mines.

The orders sought by the First Nations groups include, but are not limited to an order quashing permits, and a declaration from the parties that there was an obligation to consult and accommodate the groups in relation to the adverse effects of the permits.

The petition indicates a response must be filed by the respondents within 21 days.
