While the forecast calls for a nice day in the B.C. Peace, Fort Nelson will see more rain. Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Fort Nelson and the Muncho Lake Park-Stone Mountain Park area. Those regions could see anywhere from 30 to 60 mm of rain. See the full warning below.

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. A slow moving low centre over northern BC with significant moisture wrapping around it will continue to generate heavy rain to parts of the Fort Nelson and Muncho Lake Park – Stone Mountain Parks regions today. The most affected areas with be on the eastern slopes of the Rockies from Sikanni Chief to Tetsa River where an easterly upslope flow will enhance the rainfall amounts. Some stations in that area have received over 50 mm rainfall amount last night. The rain is expected to persist until tonight with further amounts of 30 to 60 mm possible.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio.
