The Edge slo-pitch team based out of the Peace region finished in third place at the Canadian Slo-Pitch National Championship. The squad had a strong start to the tournament as they got off to a 3-0 start, but a loss to the hands of Ontario in the semi-finals ended their championship hopes.
The team defeated Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec in their games on Friday by scores of 17-12, 22-0, and 22-7 respectively.
They wound up dropping a game on Saturday as the round robin concluded, a 16-12 decision to the hosts, Niagara Fury.
The Edge and Fury would meet again in the playoffs, but the outcome was different as the Fury would fall 22-7.
In their semi-final contest against Ontario, the Edge lost 19-14.
