Upgrades coming to Fort Nelson River Bridge

The Fort Nelson River Bridge.

Big contributions from the provincial and federal government will be going towards the Fort Nelson River Bridge. Up to $17.5 million will be coming in federal funding and $22 million will be put towards the project in provincial funding.

A major high corridor upgrade is in the works that will increase the safety of travellers while improving traffic flow.

The single lane bridge will be converted to a two lane bridge. To accommodate the work upgrades will also be made to the piers, abutments, and piles.

Federal funding falls under the New Building Canada Plan.
