Texas college cyclists to stop in Fort St. John on journey to fight cancer

A group of cycling college students from Austin, Texas will be making a stop in Fort St. John tomorrow. The students are part of a group called Texas 4000, and will be riding all the way to Anchorage, Alaska as they gather support for the ongoing fight against cancer.

Along the 70 day adventure, riders will be visiting with cancer survivors, as well as patients, and caregivers.

The first Texas 4000 ride took place in 2004, and since then over $4.5 million dollars has been raised for the cause.

Riders are expected to arrive at the Ross H. MacLean RV Park between 4:30-5:00 p.m. on Saturday where the Rotary Club of Fort St. John will be hosting the group with a steak dinner.
